For more information visit CARD's event page.

CARD's annual Kite Day is a beloved Chico tradition — a free, family-friendly celebration featuring hundreds of colorful and creative kites soaring above Community Park. It's a perfect spring outing for homeschool families of all ages!

Bring your own kite or decorate and fly one of their free kites (while supplies last). The event also features activities throughout the park, food trucks, and wide open space to run and play. No registration needed — just show up and enjoy the sky.

Want to sneak in a little science? Kite Day is a natural launching pad for conversations about wind, aerodynamics, and weather — real-world physics your kids can feel in their hands!
